Looking for a meaningful way to bring all elements of the PLC together in middle and senior classes? Create an effective evidence-based literacy instructional plan that will engage your students while also creating joyful community of thinkers, speakers, readers and writers.

This course is designed to help teachers create a cohesive and evidence-based approach to literacy in the middle and senior classes. Participants will explore how to use texts to deepen understanding and knowledge, while also providing a tool for developing oral language. We will consider morphology as a means to expand vocabulary and enrich spellings. By exploring high quality children’s literature, we will share ways to develop comprehension and reading fluency at both a small group and whole group level. Participants will engage with the teaching of writing crafts and how writing can be explored across the curriculum. Finally, we will focus on how to develop a joyful reading community for all.
