Basic First Aid Workshop for Schools.

This Basic First Aid Workshop has been developed for busy teachers and school staff, where knowledge and skills are required, but time is scarce. It is delivered over two hours by a highly experienced Fire Service and Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council certified instructor, in a focused but informal style. Each student is encouraged to interact with the instructor and topics can be adjusted to suit the class needs.

Modules included are:

• Scene Safety
• Emergency Call and dealing with the ambulance service
• Asthma
• Choking
• Bleeding, Wounds, Bumps, Bruises and Minor Injuries
• Fainting
• Allergies
• Musculoskeletal Injuries and treatment of Fractures
• Concussion
• Burns
• Hands Only CPR & Defibrillation Awareness

Each student will receive course notes booklet and reference guide.

On successful completion of this course each participant will receive a certificate of competence which is valid for two years.
