Monday 4th, Tuesday 5th, Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th & Friday 8th July 

9.30-11.30 & 12.00-2.00pm each day

This course will explore issues relating to SESE in the local environment through   fieldtrips, workshops, lectures and tours in the context of the History/Geography/Science strands.

It explores opportunities for active learning in the classroom making SESE real and relative to children.

A willingness to travel is required as this course will include field trips to potential sites for class visits.

Own/shared transport required.

Also please bring footwear for walking and a raincoat in case of inclement weather on the days when the field trips will take place.

• Skibereen Heritage Centre,

• Abbeystrewry famine graveyard,

• Lough Hyne,

• Baltimore RNLI station,

• Michael Collins trail

• Michael Collins Centre, Ardfield, Clonakilty.

• Sam Maguire Community Bells & Visitors Centre, Dunmanway.

• Boat trip from Glengarriff to visit  and explore the unique micro climate/habitat of Garnish Island.
