WCECW402 Formative Assessment and Student Voice in the Junior Cycle Classroom
Effective use of formative assessment in the classroom not only helps shift responsibility for learning from the teacher to the student but provides opportunities for students to reflect on their own learning. This will most often happen after the co-creation of success criteria. This workshop will provide practical examples to help you successfully incorporate the principles of formative assessment into your classroom practice including the use of student peer-assessment and student self-assessment.
Whenever formative assessment is used, student voice is activated. This workshop will also reference how the use of formative assessment activates student voice by creating opportunities for students to express opinions as well as influence and participate more in their own learning.
