WCECW359 Using CBT to communicate, build confidence and feel calm

 Nicola Culloty is a Primary School Teacher and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist working with both adults and children. Nicola is passionate about bringing CBT skills to school staff. Working as a primary school teacher she is very aware of the heightened stress levels amongst school staff.
This new course will explore more CBT skills for school staff which can be used to improve communication, build confidence and self esteem and equip school staff with skills which are empirically proven to generate calmness.

Learning Outcomes
• Participants will explore CBT skills for positive communication. These will include active listening, assertive communication and conflict resolution.
• Participants will become more aware of negative beliefs and the role these play in low self esteem and learn how to take steps to feel better about themselves.
• Participants will identify the meaning of body sensations and examine tools for overcoming panic, anxiety and stress.
• Participants will delve into emotions and explore how different emotions motivate us to act in different ways.
